Cathedral High School Soccer Program along with the Lawrence Parks Department sought to construct a Press Box in Lawrence Soccer Park. The new structure stands two-stories tall, offers a commanding view of the two adjacent soccer fields housing equipment storage on the first floor while the second floor is utilized as a press box with score keeping capabilities. A roof observation deck completes the structure.
Jacobs Pannicke Architects, Inc. (JPA) worked with the soccer coaching staff & parents to define their programmatic requirements & development needs. This process concluded with the design of rectangular two-story structure that met their budgetary requirements as well as accommodated their design criteria. The new press box is brick with split-face brick masonry string courses & corner pilasters that coordinate architecturally with the nearby concession stand & gazebo also located in the soccer park.
Jacobs Pannicke Architects, Inc. completed Construction Documents for the press box. JPA performed Construction Administration services through completion of the project. In follow up conversations, parents declared the Press Box a complete success & an asset to the soccer fields.
