GENERAL INFORMATION | Built in 1932, this Neo-Classical Revival style hospital has endured technological advances including associated alterations & additions while maintaining its historic integrity. Centrally located on the Veteran’s Affairs Illiana Health Care System Complex, the VA wishes to ensure the continued use of one of its signature historic buildings.  However, the destructive forces of time, weather, inappropriate tuck-pointing & delayed maintenance have necessitated repairs to maintain the building’s health.

WORK SCOPE | ARCHitecture trio, inc.conducted a thorough & systematic field survey to evaluate the condition of the guttering systems & exterior conditions identifying locations requiring masonry repairs, wood trim repairs & upgrades to drainage system. New flashing designs will be introduced to the building along with the reopening of internal drainspouts to ensure proper drainage & thereby protecting the building from the destructive forces of water. Construction Documents were prepared with Construction Administration services to be provided to ensure conformance of new materials & techniques with this historic building.
