The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis alters their displays frequently in order to keep their exhibits relevant. ‘Science Port’, an interactive media studio is now part of the ‘Construction Zone’ which is located within the fourth floor Science Wing. The Zone features a two-story building under construction which teaches basic design & engineering principles. The former second story classroom was converted into a Media Studio & Presentation Room complete with multiple Investigation Stations. Groups will be allowed to create videos incorporating various special effects including the use of a ‘green screen’, claymation as well as various digital effects.
The Children’s Museum once again employed Jacobs Pannicke Architects, Inc. (JPA) along with our consultant Loftus Engineering, Inc. to alter an existing space into a new display area. The team had recently completed ‘Health House’, another exhibit on the same level & offered the Museum’s creative staff the same flexibility to continually modify & improve the exhibit throughout the design process. Alterations were completed with a rapid turnaround time that allowed various concepts to be explored & still be ready for the opening date.
